12 months ago … celebrating my nephew, Steven’s graduation from high school.
11 months ago … planning a trip to DC to present on a panel at a national conference and celebrating my work success.
10 months ago … following the conference taking my mom on a trip to Tennessee to visit Tyler and see where he and the boys live and then go to Nashville to see her cousin who she hadn’t seen in 30 years. Blessed we share that trip together!
9 months ago … mom’s first hospital stay in 40 years. Life is fragile.
8 months ago … celebrating Raven and Bryan’s wedding on my birthday. Little did we know that in days we’d get the news mom had breast cancer. Spent 4 days with Kevin Hines as he spoke before 5600 people sharing his inspiring message of hope! A myriad of experiences and emotions ... joy, fear, sadness and gratitude.
7 months ago … meeting with doctors to support mom on her decisions for treatment and our family spending the last Thanksgiving with mom.
6 to 10 months are a blur … going through the motions of doing the next thing that needed to be done whether it be for mom, work, or my own personal responsibilities. And coming together as a family to walk this journey together the best way we could to give back to mom.
2 months ago ... realizing we had days left and spending some of the most precious times. Experiencing this divine time between life and death.
1 month ago -- saying good-bye and honoring a life that mattered.

Joy, sadness, loss, celebration, gratitude, anger trying to be mindful to not let the darkness overshadow the good things that happened because there were many. So how do you measure … How about LOVE in so many ways!
